Cotton candy clouds in a taffy sky
Lollipops spinning as cars roll by
The air smells like dreams left out to dry
Sticky sweet
But I don’t know why
Bubblegum skyline
Pop it in my mind
Chewing on the colors till the flavors unwind
Bubblegum skyline
Sugar’s in the air
Every step I take feels lighter than despair
Neon trees with licorice vines
Sidewalks paved with jellybean lines
A caramel sun starts to slowly recline
The city’s a dessert and it’s all mine
But what happens when the sugar fades
When the taste of joy slips and degrades
Will the skyline melt or will it stay
Or is it just a candy masquerade
Bubblegum skyline
Pop it in my mind
Chewing on the colors till the flavors unwind
Bubblegum skyline
Sugar’s in the air
Every step I take feels lighter than despair
Maybe it’s fleeting
Maybe it’s fake
But this bubblegum skyline’s a risk I’ll take
I’ll chew till the end
Till the colors break
The sweetest escape
My bubblegum mistake
